comfy pillows quiet room great location.

we had booked treatments over the phone without seeing prices. they were very expensive even for hotels.

The hotel was well situated in easy walking distance for the trade show we were attending. There were plenty of restaurants close by but as the hotel had its own bistro with an interesting menu this was a bonus.

We were in Familia Zuccardia which I have to say was not the quietest of rooms. We had quite a lot of night noise from the pub over the road which we found disturbing as well as noise from engineering works one night

We were able to access our room early which was a great help for the midday wedding we were attending.

Location excellent and hotel very good.

£10 per night for parking. Bistro - 3 out of 4 of our choices for dinner taken from the menu given to us not available - crab starter, fish main and rump steak main! They had been very busy! Our first two choices of wine not available - a rose appetiser and a white to dine. Second choices ok but not the point.

The location. Knowing you are normally going to get a certain standard.

Didnt like the fact the heating was not working so we were cold and couldnt dry the towels and also the curtains would not draw making the room too light.

        • Older travelers
          5.8

pricing system we were told one price and then found we had to pay extra for breakfast and parking which we did knowthe parking was very tight indeed and car was in danger of damage

Very well located, comfortable, quiet (at the back of the building anyway) and very nicely appointed with good staff especially at the bar and bistro. I can see myself returning for a weekend sometime

Arrived to find only one receptionist on duty with a queue of four of five waiting to check in and no sign of any assistance, as a result of which we had to stand around and wait our turn when what you really need arriving at a hotel after a long journey is to get to your room as quickly as possible. It didn't make a great first impression. Bizarrely there was no marmalade at breakfast. I don't do toast and jam - and neither did the couple sitting nearby. Luckily the poached eggs were absolutely perfect so maybe I can forgive that.

Ideally situated in Harrogate - very central and also short walk to Conference Centre if relevant. Lovely well appointed rooms with full sized toiletries. Restaurant and bar facuilities good. Food lovely.

The food in the Bistro was extremely good and flavoursome. :)

The service at breakfast was a bit slow at times.

The location of the hotel and the staff give 100 percent

          The price

        • Couple
          8.2

We stayed here for my husbands 40th. The staff were amazing & always went that extra mile! We ate in the Bistro on both evenings & were very pleased with the £35 offer of 2 courses, bottle of house wine & coffee. The hotel had a wonderful relaxed feeling about it but I did feel in areas it could do with a refurb. However, this did actually add to the shabby chic French style of the hotel. The beauty treatments were professional & a reasonable price. Would have loved a jacuzzi in the spa to relax in though. The location was fantastic & being only 100 yards or so from Bettys was another bonus. Although this hotel was not the best I've stayed in, our overall experience was fabulous.

Bedroom was a little basic but really good mini bar & an amazing monsoon style shower made up for it!

        • Couple
          5.4

          The shower was excellent.

I thought that the room was not value for money, £180 for one night, the bedroom had only just enough room to walk around the bed, the wires hung from the wall mounted tv, there was dust under the radiator, and the room itself must have backed onto a nightclub as there was noise from both music and people having a great tim walking home up until 3am. Not a resful night. The room was very cold, but there was no air conditioning. The hairdryer was broken and the bathroom shelf had toothpaste splattered on the shelves above the sink. For £180 per night, i had expected better.

        • Single
          6.2

The staff were very polite. The food in the restaurant was excellent although the service was slow and haphazard.

The room was very small for the tariff and in a poor position. Some sort of electrical appliance was going all night long- central heating or something similar which was exceptionally noisy. There is an issue with the parking at this hotel, there is not sufficient parking space available for the rooms and any parking that is available has a £5 tariff which given the accomadation price is ridiclous- this does need sorting out as it is a definite detraction from staying here.
